From Winter to Rebirth: What We’ve Experienced at Tepaluma
Patagonia teaches us every year that to endure is also to bloom.
We’re living through a wintery spring, but before looking ahead, we’d like to share a glimpse of the season we’ve just lived, a winter in which we chose to stay active, as if it were summer.
In Chile’s Aysén Region, the seasons are sharply defined. After the busy summer months, the flow of visitors drops dramatically, and the weather invites locals to a quieter, more introspective rhythm. It’s a natural cycle and a real challenge for local businesses.
In Tepaluma’s early years, winter meant shutdown and restart. Local restaurants and bars close their doors, power outage become more frequent, phone and internet connections disappear with every storm, and the daily firewood related work takes even more of your focus. Everything simply takes more effort.
But this year, we refused to surrender to the winter slowdown. Instead, we kept moving — pushing through the cold so we could greet September full of energy and purpose. Here, the local saying “we made it through August” carries deep meaning, both as individuals as organizations. And this year, we emerged from it more alive than ever.
Throughout the winter, we hosted several events in Coyhaique and Puerto Aysén alongside our distributor, Gran Calafate. We met wonderful people, crafted countless cocktails, trained hospitality teams, and even joined a wedding fair. Staying active has become our way of embracing the cold — continuing to share what inspires us most: the spirit of life, resilience, and the joy of Patagonia in a bottle.
From Patagonia to the World: Fairs and New Connections
This year, we set out to reach new horizons, taking the spirit of Tepaluma to Food & Service 2025 in Santiago, Chile’s most prestigious food and beverage fair.
Then, in August, came an unexpected honor: an invitation to represent the Aysén Region at ProWine São Paulo, part of the world’s leading trade fair for wine and spirits, held in key markets across the globe. The São Paulo event is the only one of its kind in Latin America, and this incredible opportunity was made possible thanks to ProChile Aysén.
Being present at two major fairs simultaneously was no small feat, but both proved to be a great success.
At Food & Service Santiago, thousands of visitors stopped by our stand, curious and inspired by what we do. The experience has already opened new doors — we are now in talks with distributors and private clients eager to bring Tepaluma to key regions where we’re looking to expand our distribution.
In Brazil, beyond the warm reception from the public and the press, we also closed a deal with a new importer confirmed on the very last day of the fair. If all goes as planned, Tepaluma will be available in Brazil before Carnival 2026.
This milestone is not only a commercial success, but also a symbolic connection with a highly discerning market that recognizes in Tepaluma the strength and nobility of Patagonia.
What’s Next: A New Chapter Is About to Unfold
Throughout this time, we’ve also been quietly working on something truly special: the launch of our new Tepaluma Aged Gin.
Many of you had the chance to taste it while it was still resting in barrels, and we know the anticipation has been building. Those who know… know. And those who don’t, prepare to discover something that has us feeling emotional.
On October 19, we’ll raise our glasses to celebrate International Gin & Tonic Day — with Tepaluma Gin and Tepaluma Maqui Gin. Cheers to you, to our Tepaluma lovers, customers and partners, to Patagonia, to Chile, and to the world!
With love and gratitude,
Tepaluma
