Tasting Notes
This gin displays a beautiful, translucent golden color, flawless and free of impurities. On the nose, it bursts with vanilla notes likely derived from its blend of barrels: American oak, French oak, and ex-Carménère wine barrels. The vanilla evokes slowly baked desserts, with deep, complex aromas developed over time and heat. A subtle, elegant woody component unfolds, reminiscent of incense, comparable even to Mizunara-style barrels used in Japanese whiskies.
Delicate semi-fruity notes emerge, reminiscent of winter citrus: abundant orange, a hint of grapefruit, with orange predominating. A distinctive white pepper note also appears. The overall aroma is enveloping, with refined hints of honey and caramel, subtle and never overpowering.
On the palate, despite its 44% ABV, it is surprisingly elegant. The winter citrus profile, particularly orange, shines in harmony with the nose.
It doesn’t have an extended finish, but the entry is intense, full of character and balance. It lingers on the palate not as heat, but as a burst of flavor that captivates.
The interplay between the woods is especially appealing, highlighting the influence of American and French oak, particularly the Carménère wine barrels, which contribute remarkable balance and unity. The 14 classic gin botanicals remain present, seven of them sourced directly from the Patagonia. The high-quality juniper is subtle yet expressive, reminding us this is still a gin—aged gin that maintains its elegance after two years in mixed barrels.
Truly enchanting in both aroma and flavor, with a stunning color that reflects exceptional craftsmanship from one of the most remote and breathtaking places on Earth: the Patagonia.
