Tepaluma in Forbes Brasil: revisiting a key moment in the rise of Patagonian spirits.

In September 2025, Forbes Brasil published an article that marked an inflection point for Chilean spirits. It highlighted how Chile was beginning to expand its international presence beyond wine, driven by a new generation of premium distillates born in Patagonia, with a clear focus on strategic markets such as Brazil. Today, we revisit that publication because its relevance has not only endured, but continues to grow stronger.

The report pointed to a structural shift: the rise of small scale producers deeply connected to their territory, working with unique ingredients and processes that prioritize quality over volume. In this context, Chilean Patagonia emerges as a distinctive origin, where pure water, native botanicals, and an untamed landscape shape a character that cannot be replicated.

Within this movement, Tepaluma was featured as part of this new wave redefining how Chile is perceived globally. From the Carretera Austral, the distillery has developed an approach rooted in capturing the essence of its territory, translating Patagonia into a refined and authentic expression in the glass. The article highlighted Tepaluma Maqui Gin in particular, a spirit that reflects the depth of the maqui berry, with notes of dark fruit, a herbal profile, and a fresh, vibrant finish establishing a distinctive identity within the premium segment.

The growing interest from the Brazilian market, also emphasized in the article, reinforces the importance of this shift. Brazil is emerging as a key destination for Chilean spirits, with consumers increasingly open to exploring premium categories that combine quality, storytelling, and origin. In light of recent developments, this vision is not only being confirmed it is accelerating.

In line with this international projection, this year Tepaluma will participate in ProWine São Paulo 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8 in Brazil, one of the most relevant industry gatherings at a regional level. This event represents a key opportunity to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the Brazilian market and to build meaningful relationships with importers, distributors, and strategic players in the sector.

“We are very proud to be recognized in the Brazilian market and to see a genuine intention to bring our products to retail. We will work carefully on this so that Tepaluma can soon be available to Brazil’s discerning consumers,” says Andrea Zavala, co-founder of the brand.

Looking back, this mention in Forbes Brasil represents more than a milestone it signals a broader transformation. Chile is no longer exporting only wine. It is beginning to export territory, identity, and liquid culture. And from Patagonia, that journey is not just continuing it is gaining momentum.
